K4OHX

NWS OFFICE and RADAR WSR-88D OHX

K4OHX is the Amateur Radio Station used by the hams at the National Weather Service (NWS) in Nashville. This is the call sign that will be used by amateur operators at the NWS during severe weather events. The W1ARN repeater (443.725 MHz) has been established for the purpose of gathering and disseminating weather information. The NWS in Nashville, effective immediately, will monitor only 443.725 MHz for all weather traffic from the spotter groups across Middle Tennessee. The Cookeville Repeater Association is pleased to assist Mr. Derrel Martin, MIC NWS, and Mike Davis, W1ARN, in this effort.

If you would like to listen in to this traffic you can program your radio with 444.600+ which is the MTEARS link in Putnam County.
